Can you use XL1s to capture DVX100 footage?
I shot some footage on my school’s DVX100. I did not have time to capture from the DVX or a deck, and now all I have access to is an XL1s. I tried capturing the footage with the XL1s and I can see the video playing back in the FCP capture window, but when I try to “capture now” the screen goes black and says that it is waiting for the timecode. I can capture footage shot with my XL1s flawlessly. Is there some setting I can tweak within FCP or the camera, or is it impossible to use the XL1s to capture DVX100 footage?

Shouldn’t be a problem as long as the XL1 is well-maintained. Once in a while there are alignment issues between different cameras that cause playback troubles but in theory this should be fine.
