You are absolutely right Job. Your method is the best way of doin the masking and Im sure it came across far more complicated but thats what I was trying to say (In a long winded way).

I only mentioned Mocha because its the best program to use for tracking of the billboard so the still looks realistically there in the shot if trucks are completely blocking it in frames.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I see merit in both Alejandro’s and Job’s suggestions and will test them out. Job’s may be best since it allows for a new mask for each car, which means I don’t have to maintain unneeded vector points (some cars are more complex than others).

Ross, if I understand correctly, Mocha is not necessary here, since I have a still shot and the billboard is not moving relative to the frame. There’s no need to track the billboard itself. But maybe I’m misunderstanding what Mocha does.

I know this post is really old, but I just wanted to thank Job for his self-entitled “simple solution”. I was having the exact same problem and it worked like a charm. The advice is still saving people from ripping their hair out, even today.
