September 18, 2010 at 4:30 pmUnfortunately, in Premiere you can’t select an edge. I’ve been wanting this feature for such a long time. Premiere is a mouse heavy editing program and that’s the way they seem like they want to keep it. I’d love to see Adobe give people options as to whether they’d like to use the keyboard or the mouse.
Go to 6 minutes on my video here and you can see how to set up Premiere’s trimmer similar to Avid’s but I don’t really know how practical it is.

Todd, does Adobe take requests as far as features? If so, who do we talk to?

Yes, you can file feature requests and bug reports here.
Don’t worry that your request will just go into a black hole and not be read. We take requests that come in through that channel very seriously. I know and work closely with the people who process those requests for Premiere Pro.
Here’s a blog post that I wrote about feature requests and bug reports a little while ago for After Effects, but it also applies to Premiere Pro.

September 19, 2010 at 11:40 amHey Todd…
You remind me of….me…when I used to do the combustion stuff for discreet.
Thanks for being on the Cow and putting a human face/voice on the Adobe organization.
I and I’m sure others appreciate it very much!
