  • Can you keyframe the polygon selection tag visibility?

Posted by Scyld on April 4, 2014 at 4:16 pm

    hi

i have a simple polygon shape (see attached C4d file 7323_polygonreveal.c4d.zip), and i’d like to reveal different panels of it, bit by bit. is there a way to animate the selection tags’ visibility? so i can toggle between 100% visibility and 0%?

sounds simple but i’m struggling to figure out how this would work… or is there an easier way to do this?

any advice would be very gratefully received. thank you.

you can add an alpha material and keyframe between it and the colored materials in the Material slot of the texture tags

genius! love it. perfect solution. thank you very much!

one question: how come the texture doesn’t generate in betweens? its either on or off. if i wanted to fade them on, would that be possible?

you said toggle so that’s what I was thinking, it is possible, if the materials all have the same channels enabled it does fade between the materials between keyframes

you have to render to see it though

yes i was looking for a simple on/off state, but this is great to know for future work.

thank you very much for your expertise!
