Thanks for the tip. Setting te TC at free run helped capture longer clips, but I am not getting HD even when I set the capture settings to 1080 HD in FCP. Does the camera need to be in a certain mode or is there another setting in FCP that I am missing? It still comes out 4:3 and in SD.
Thanks,
Jason

July 30, 2008 at 7:06 pmThe HVX200 shoots in DV, DVpro, 720, and 1080…. It is not just one of them so yes might be your answer… I do not have the camera in front of me…. Dig thru the menu… It will work..

October 14, 2008 at 8:59 pmHello Nate,
I did everything you said, so I could capture the video… The only problem is that I couldn´t capture it in 24p…
Do you have any idea of what might have happened?
Thank you in advance,

I do not have the camera set up. And I am sure I was testing with 1080i/30 or 29.97 frames…
I do not know if their is a 24p limitation on it or not..
Make sure your camera is on free run for the computer must see running time code. Make sure the FCP project is set for 24p and the “capture now” window has uncontrollable device selected..
Let me know if you get it to work…. What are you recording too /How..
