  • can you delete an audio track from a subclip?

I had an AE sync a bunch of interview footage and make subclips in order to join the video w/ the ISO. We have no back up audio, so when syncing I asked him to include the camera audio in the subclips just in case the lav audio ins’t good. After looking at the subclips today, I realized that the camera audio levels are extremely high and peak constantly. I would like to erase only the camera audio from the sub clips… is that possible? I don’t want to have to go back and re-sync everything all over again, I’d like to just get rid of the camera audio.
Just so it’s clear, here’s our syncing and subclipping process:

1)lay the ISO out on the timeline and sync with the camera by slate

2)On the first synced frame of video and ISO together:
-Match frame the video. Make a subclip of it.
-Match frame the ISO. Make a subclip of it.

3)Select those two sub clips, then go to:
    Bin > Autosync
-Sync by in point. Then, choose “Keep audio on clip with video” to include the camera audio in the sub clip.

    Thanks,
    Caitlin

Load the sub clip into your source monitor. Deselect the tracks you want to remove, and drag it back out into a bin. New subclip, minus the tracks you don’t’ want.

if you hit delete on a master clip it will offer you the option to delete the media and what parts of the media. so you can select the audio only. But that gives clips withaaudio showing offline.
normally you can’t modify a clip if it has media attached. but hold ctrl shift and link becomes unlink you can then modify the clips tracks and then relink the clip to connect the video.
