  • Can you copy captions data from one captions file to another in Premiere?

I’ve created a captions file to export to a .srt sidecar file in 1920×1080. The video was shot in 6K so I’m working on another export in that higher resolution. So I have to create 2 separate caption files because of the different sizes. Is there a way to copy/paste the caption data (similar to markers) into the new 6K captions file? Is there a workaround where I can continue with the same 1920×1080 captions file? Thanks ☺

Select your caption file on Project window.
File > Export > Captions > XML Format
Reimport the XML into your 6k project.

Thank you! It just worked for me. I’m guessing that the size you select when you create the file doesn’t matter using this method because it looks great in VLC. ????
