No problem here with accents or ñ…. Weird. Just to clarify, my keyboard is always in english and I use the combination of keys to write spanish characters.

I cannot confirm that, but I was definitely having crashes related to gfx.

Yeah, I had a graphic related crash today. It actually caused a kernal panic too. FCP opened back up fine afterwards (though it took forever repairing the permissions before I launched the app).

I decided to hold off on Text for now.

All Spanish users in at least in Spain confirm the bug.

You add an accent, the FCP X crashes.

Workaround: write the accent in a text editor, copy, ans paste in FCP X.

THIS IS SO IRRITATING AND WRONG.

    REALLY, WHAT´S GOING ON????

A PROFESSIONAL TOOLS THAT CRASHES WHEN I ADD AN ACCENT TO A TITLE????????

I have had 2 serious crashes today( worse still I cant pinpoint why). I guess I shall stay away from the big projects on FCP X for the time being.

The only solution with the accents is to write the text in a text editor, copy, and paste in FCP X.

    Otherwise, it will crash.

Something like this should end in legal action or something… 😉

    False advertising.

    Really…

“Escuse me… I bought your application, but it doesn´t work. I need accents, but I can´t make titles with accents, because the applications crashes”.

In Adobe Photoshop, the most professional image manipulation software on the planet, you still can’t use special characters at all and you have to resort to the copying-and-pasting-from-TextEditor route.

    Is that a excuse?

In Premiere Pro and Avid, this, obviously, does not happen.

It happens to me all the time! And it sucks since, well, it’s supposed to be a pro app, right? Living in Mexico (and applies to all Spanish and accent-language users), presenting a text without the proper grammar is like not differentiating between you’re and your -it’s just plain un professional.

Sadly, I see I’m note the only one with the issue…

Have you tried whether this problem is still there in 10.0.8? There have been many improvements to the Title effect since the original post.

I can’t find any problems with special characters or accents now (in fact, I find it works really well), but there may be issues with particular characters that you are using.
