  • Can we pan/crop or Track motion the Master video track?

Posted by Gilles Gagnon on January 13, 2020 at 3:17 pm

    Hi folks,
Using VP17, I end a video with a set of at least 6 sponsor logo images, which naturally are on six diff tracks.

I want to resize (shrink) the entire set a bit, making them appear smaller but keeping the general layout.

Adjusting each individual clip via pan/crop or Track Motion is an option but time-consuming.

It would be much more efficient to resize the entire “video” or adjust the Master Video track to re-size them all concurrently.

    Is this possible? Any ideas?
    Cheers!

Hey Graham! Nice to see you still here helping forum users out after all these years! Much appreciated!

I should have mentioned I was aware of the nested veg files but I was hoping to keep things simple and do it all within the same project. I would seem as a possible task.

    Is it not possible?

Gilles, are the logos on screen all at once in different places or one at a time in the same place?
p.s. long time no chat. Hope you’re doing well. I’m retired (almost 4 years now) and loving it!

Hey Mike! So great to see you here again!

The logos are all displayed at once…superimposed/stacked video tracks. I ended up creating the layout/collection in Photoshop and using the resulting single graphic file.

If there’s another method, I’m all ears… for next time ☺

Congrats on your retirement! If you’re ever in the ‘hood, please connect and we’ll grab lunch/dinner/coffee/beer.. 🙂

Gilles, you did exactly what I was going to suggest. So much easier doing something like this in Photoshop ????
I haven’t been in Toronto in quite some time but will definitely let you know if I’m planning a trip some time soon.
    Take care!
