  • Can Vegas add chapter markers automatically?

Posted by Josh Meredith on May 11, 2006 at 7:54 pm

I’m creating a slideshow in Vegas rather than DVDA, for the increased flexibility. Is it possible for Vegas to insert a chapter marker on every image I import into the timeline, so that viewers can skip forward & backward through the pictures? I could do it manually, but this slide show will have a couple hundred pictures.

I know how to create a slide show in DVDA, and that people can skip through the pictures, but I want to be able to use pan & zoom, and maybe a few other tricks on a few of the pics in the slide show, so it has to be done with Vegas.

If it can’t be set to automatically insert markers, can Vegas automatically insert a marker every few seconds?

    Thanks.

Excalibur can easily add markers over a set interval or for each event on the track. Remember that theres a limit to the number of chapter points allowed so you might not want one for EVERY image.

Ultimate S can also add markers. And here’s a free script that will add markers over a set interval (by default, 1 per minute):

That’s one of the greatest features of Vegas – Scripting!

The free script worked! Thanks again.
