  • Can the AJA be plugged into a computer while recording from a camera?

Posted by Brenna Perez on September 9, 2013 at 3:31 am

Hey guys, trying to figure out a VTR solution. I need to have immediate reverse playback for something being shot on Alexa. As far as I see, no external recorders playback in reverse unless it’s sped up. I need realtime backwards playback.

My best bet, as I see it, is running an external recorder that records every time the camera does. If it can be plugged into the computer simultaneously, via FireWire, that would be ideal, so I could bring each file onto the computer as it appeared, then run it backwards from there.

Would the AJA allow me to do this? I can’t find any information online. If not, are there any other solutions you know of?

    Many thanks!

You could use a remote control on the KiPro like a DNF. It should be able to control the KiPro & play -100% speed

But will it allow me to play it at real speed in reverse?
