Can Premiere coexist on an Avid Media Composer Workstation?
I am in the process of setting up 2 edit suites running Media Composer software with MOJO SDI hardware. I also use a lot of After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustator so I have ordered the Adobe Production Studio Premium which also includes Premiere. Premiere has some features (ie., secondary color-correction) that I would like to have access to. Has anyone had success running Premeire on an Avid Media Composer Workstation?

I’ve heard some people say it works without problems, and I’ve heard some people had trouble with them. One thing for sure–don’t have them both open at the same time.
You could always partition your drive and create a dual boot–make one for Avid only and one for Premiere. You could still access After Effects, Illustrator, etc…from the Avid side. Just make a shortcut to the AfterEffects.exe file and put it on the Avid boot desktop. This way you won’t run the risk of one editing system overwriting something important to the other editor when it’s installed.
Or, ghost your hard drive, install Premiere, try it. If it doesn’t work restore your hard drive from the backup you made.

Mike, Thanks for the advise. I’m hoping to hear from someone who is actually using a setup like this. Once I get my systems, I will try it on one of them.

Yes, it works. We just got a Dell 690 yesterday and installed the Adobe Production Suite on it, then I grabbed our copy of Avid Xpress Pro 5.2 and installed that. Borrowed the dongle from the other Xpress Pro and it ran like a dream–as did Premiere Pro.
I would say install away.
