  • Can Premiere accept DV/DVCPro QT files?

    Hello,

I have a client who wants me to give him QT files of the VHS footage he gave me. He wants to use these QT files to edit in Premiere. I transferred the VHS footage onto miniDV and am capturing through Final Cut Pro. The Quicktime Codec is DV/DVCPro – NTSC and I just wanted to make sure Premiere will be able to take this codec.

If this codec does not work, do you have any other suggestions on what the best QT codec is for Premiere? I’ve tried exporting it out as an uncompressed QT, but the file size is too large.

Thanks in advance for your help!

The last time I tried bring DVC Pro wrapped in QT from FCP (on a PC), it didn’t work. AE might accept them. You best bet would be an export to QT animation.
