  • Can Open .mov file in After Effects CS4

    Hi All,
I’m not sure why I can’t open a video file with the .MOV extension in AE CS4 as I keep getting an error message, but I was able to open same file in the much older AE 6.5 with its audio.
    Hope someone can help.

    Thanks.

Have you tried the file in other apps? (QT player, MPEG Streamclip, etc)

If you can open it in MPEG Streamclip, I’d just re-export it from there to a high-quality codec and try importing the new file instead. A bit of a workaround, but if it’s just one clip, this lets you keep moving.

Thanks for this tip. Actually, I donwnloaded it, but just keep getting errors running the software MPEG Streamclip. Actually, I’m trying to open and work with about 150 video clips, so it’s a lot of file conversions to be done. Actually, I was able to do the conversion to a mp4 format, but there was a lot of pixellation on the converted clips. But the files opens in AE Cs4 with Mac, but I’m more comfortable working with windows.
    I’ll appreciate more tips.
