We’re trying to work with a SD 16:9 timeline in Suite. Codec being used is DV. When we try and trim a clip in the Edit Suite and drag it into the timeline, we get “Can not perform this operation with these clips”. We tried a new timeline, tried another Mac with M100, but still getting the message. Audio rate is the same for both the timeline and the clips…can’t seem to figure it out.

Are you setting the PGM to 29,97 _525i, or 525psf?

I have seen this error when I try to use a clip that has competing audio tracks. Like two Audio 1’s and two Audio 2’s. I would open the clip in Edit Suite and hit the Track mapping button. Check to see if you have competing audio tracks.

I just faced this problem for the first time last week after more than a 15 years with M100. It turned out to be two clips that somehow occupied the same “A” video track. I just Option-dragged from the A track to the B tack to bring one of the clips there and all is well. Hope that works for you.
