  • Can not modify keyframe when dragging from Text Preset

Posted by Carpediem on February 28, 2007 at 3:38 am

Since I am fairly weak at After Effects, I am wanting to create my text animation and then export it to premiere through an alpha channel…. and then apply it on top of a video in premiere.

The problem is, I am dragging the “Explosion” effect onto some text but the keyframes (round dots) are not movable on the timeline below. I want a hold of the text effect for a couple of seconds and then a sudden explosion.

Thanks a million in advance for your help.

    heres what i do:

    1) I go to “open presets” from the AFX menu
    2) A windows opens up in Adobe Bridge
    3) I select the effect I want and then right click and say “Place in AFX”
    4) I then go in AFX and change the text
    5) I then try to modify it and keyframes are greyed out 🙁
