can mkv files be converted in compressor

Compressor will be able to process whatever thing you can open with QT.
I haven’t found any way for opening the mkv with QT.
i think that your best option is to convert in a PC to any format that you can manage in a mac.

Not sure about Compressor, but if have Perian, you can use MPEG Streamclip to transcode.

or, come to think of it, Quicktime Pro. (as long as Perian is installed)
