  Can it do what I need?

  Hi Bovines.

  I’m looking at a studio update over the next year or so, so I’mm looking at options. Currently offline is all DV based. Online is Leitch Velocity. Here’s my questions.

  I want to stay PC based. Anybody have any Black Magic advice or experience they would care to share under XP?

  If i go PP2.0, with an HD decklink solution, can I open a DV timeline, and output it to SDI without conforming or encodeing to the BM codec?

  The same goes for an HDV timeline?

  If I drop an un-compressed graphic TGA etc on this timeline, will it compress to the timeline format?

  Can I work with mixed resolutions (does PP2.0 do this?)

  What kind of disk storage requirements can I get away with? A./ For SD and B./ For HD (compressed)

  Does the multibridge act just like a decklink card? Can I swap it between machines…using it for capture and output, but edit without it if required?

  Any BM wisdom appreciated!
