  • Can I use two hard drives at the same time on one project?

I started a project thinking my 2TB would be big enough.

    but it wasn’t.

I now need more room to use all the footage I have. Can I connect two hard drives at the same time and just have separate files on each of them for the same FCP project? I assume that would be OK but I figured I’d see if I’m wrong. Obviously, a RAID setup would have been ideal, but given the fact I didn;t start that way and I’m not in charge of the budget, that’s not in the cards.

sure, plug in another drive INTO the MAC, not the current drive.

Sure, Why not. You only have one open FW port; 1394 is made to daisy chain multiple devices.

I would not recommend it for editing though.
