    Hi,
I’m wondering if I can shoot 720P/60 to tape and simultaneously record NTSC 480/60i SD to the Firestore?
Of course using the camera’s firewire output. Has anyone tried this? Ideally with the same timecode in SD as HD?
A customer is wanting to record standard def for offline for a tv series, as they have several edit stations but only 1 HD1400 deck.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.
    Regards,

There is no down conversion on firewire output on the HDX900. What you shoot is what you get out that tap.

why do this when the file size of the native dvcproHD codec is small enough to deal with easily in FCP or Avid.
