Can I ‘unwrap’ an MXF file that FCPX ‘wrapped’ to .mov?
Shortish story.
Resolve can’t see my 720p files that I shot with my C300, and imported with FCPX.
Resolve CAN see the original files that I shot with my C300.I have a project that I do NOT have the original MXF files. (I have multiple backups of the current clips that FCPX rewrapped. I am trying to find a way to undo what FCPX did to the MXF files.
Any ideas on how to unwrap .mov files back to .mxf?

What I’m confused about is why resolve can’t see the mpeg2 movies?
If it’s not working, you can always export a flat ProRes movie and an EDL (requires EDL-X) or use Resolve’s scene detection to find your cuts.

Yep. I’m confused too.
Seems like the Blackmagic guys are confused too. They just keep saying. “it’s an unsupported codec” conveniently ignoring the fact that it’s MXF, and the 1080p version, and unwrapped version works fine.. *sighs*
If I can’t find a way to unwrap these, I’ll just end up rendering out all 7 of these projects, and doing scene cut detection on them. but I’d REALLY like to avoid that, on this one, and in the future.
This is also happening to 2 other editors that I know. different cameras, different FCPX systems.

If it’s 720p that’s tripping it up, then shoot 1080 in the future?
If not, I’d stay on Blackmagic to fix it.

well, that would be great if it were an option. C300 won’t over crank and do 1080p =)
I keep nudging them over in this thread:
Maybe if I can find more C300 / FCPX users to do the same it will help.OR if I could find someone who’s resolve or FCPX doesn’t mess up, then I’d know it’s my fault. (or at least have something more to troubleshoot)

It only over ranked footage that doesn’t work? Does any other frame rate work?
I only have 1080 C300 footage and it all works. 🙁
