  • Can I move the Camera and get Motion Blur ?

Posted by Ace Billet on June 5, 2005 at 5:30 pm

I want to create a “field” of people (2D PSDs) positioned on a AE 3D plane,
with a camera flying between them, stopping etc.

Usually my MO is creating a “camera rig” with a camera parented to a NULL,
    and moving the null around.
However, this method does not create motion blur to anything.

Is there a way to do this just by moving the Null / Camera or do I have to keep them
locked and move the comp around ?

    cheers

Moving the null & camera should create motion blur as long as motion blur is switched on for the comp and for each visible PSD layer … ?

You could try switching the rendering plugin in the advanced composition settings. Advanced 3D seems fine, but hardware OpenGL kills the motion blur (on my system anyway – Mac G5 dual 1.8)
