  • Can I make an image follow a mask path?

Posted by Gizmo1990 on January 28, 2006 at 5:33 pm

I’d like to have a image follow a mask path I’ve made but I can’t work out how to do it?

I know you can do this with text but thats by using the ‘Custom Path’ function inside its options panel.

How would I do a similar thing but with images or even movies?

    Any advice appreciated.

    In the timeline:

    1. select the mask shape property for the layer that has the mask
    2. edit>copy
    3. select the position property of the layer that you want to animate
    4. edit>paste

After that, to change the timing of the move, drag the first or last keyframe, and the others will stretch to suit. For more on that, search the help under “roving keyframes”.

    Hope that helps,
    Steve

you could try copying the path key frames and pasting them into the position of the image layer.
