I have a quick job to do this weekend. I’m still using Final Cut Pro 7, but the original editor cut the thing is Final Cut ProX.
Can I install final cut pro X without messing up my version 7?

    Thanks!

I would search forum. I don’t think so – I ran across a post a few days ago on that topic.

The conflicts are not just 7 versus X, but also depend on the version of OS you have.

There is also software now to convert from X back to 7. Cheaper than buying FCPX and going to all the trouble of partitioning. Lots of people have come to grief trying to run both on the one system so perhaps try this software first.

Also if you have never driven X before you might take all week both safely installing and then learning how X thinks. It is a very different beast.
