  • Can I Import Bins From FCP?

Posted by Chris Dukes on July 28, 2007 at 9:53 pm

Basically, I have a bin of audio files, each with location markers and in/out markers, that I want to import into Avid. I want to avoid having to remark all the clips once I get to the Avid system. As far as I can tell, Automatic Duck only works with sequences. I’m going to post this in the FCP section as well. I’ll take any and all suggestions, thanks.

You can export a FCP Batch file and import via Avid Log Exchange to create a .ale file. Import the ALE file with all the metadata.

Thanks for the answer. Will my markers from FCP be converted into locators in Avid?

    Two words: Automatic Duck.

Google search on those, and purchase a copy, it will relieve your FCP to Avid headaches.

Automatic Duck only does sequences. Thanks though.
