  • Can I edit an exported mp4 file from Compressor in FCP?

Finally after six years, we’ve changed the title of our documentary and have to jump
into the opening chapter and change a graphic with new title.
I brought up the old project and several media files are missing (on old tower in California, I’m now
on the Big Island of HI) that need reconnecting.

If I can edit the mpeg4 from the Compressor output in FCP, drop in the new graphic,
in the middle sandwiched in the mpeg4, what would be the procedure to output to Compressor with eventual goal of DVD authoring in DVD SPro?

This would save me thousands of dollars in travel $ and time, a mad producer, and more
delay on the release of this documentary.

    Mucho appreciado amigos.
    Best,
    Sherwood

There will be a huge loss in quality. Why not have someone fedex the missing files to you on a drive?

It’s on my old G5 tower in storage.
Who in Palm freakin’ Desert would know what files to look for?
There are so many render files, audio files, etc. now that I open the project
    to attach, it’s just endless.

Can I at least CUT the mpeg4 into two pieces with the graphic taken out
and just create the grafic sequence in FCP and export that in Compressor with the same settings?

Then place the three elements in DVDSpro as a sandwiched chapter?
