Can I control individual pen vertices?
Before I explain what my problem is, let me show you what my finished product should look similar to:

I have recreated everything EXCEPT the headphones cord coming from the mp3 player. I filmed my talent without headphones, so masking it is out of the question. I am trying to find a way to use keyframes and interpolation to create a believable cord without resorting to rotoscoping the entire thing. A timid solution I have come up with is to use the pen tool with no fill on a shape layer to create a white line that can be manipulated. The problem is, I am unsure if I have full control over the vertices within the lines, and am having no luck looking at all the properties of the shape layer.
I guess the first step is to somehow anchor one end of the line to the talent’s ear, and the other to their hand (I don’t even care if it is curved yet). Can I assign an object (mp3 player) as a parent to the separate vertices? If so, where can I access this from? Under {Contents > Shape 1 > Path 1} there is only a Path timer that I can add an expression to, but that is the entire line, correct? Are there perhaps some expression codes I need to be aware of in order to do this?
Is this within the realm of possibility or am I deluding myself? Also, if there is an easier way to create a fake headphones cord, please let me know. Thanks in advance! =)
