Can I change the “Field Order” of several clips at once?

Thanks

Sorry I missed this nuance. It sounds like Vegas is not interpreting you media correctly. In this case, you should not be touching the EVENTS at all. You should right-click on the MEDIA in the Project Media and correct the Filed Order there ONCE. Then any event current or future event that uses that media will be correct.

August 12, 2012 at 3:14 pmHi John, per your suggestion I was able to change the properties of the media in the “Project Media”. However I tried to select all media at once and change them all at the same time with no luck. I seems that even if the media is highlighted only the media that is touched first or last by the cursor is the one that is effected. Either way I like that method better than changing it on the timeline.
Thanks!Thanks

Yes, if you have multiple media you have to do them one at a time. Once again, VASST Ultimate S Pro can fix this as well with one click. At some point you have to consider what your time is worth doing all of this manually and determine if it’s a better investment to buy a productivity tool like Ultimate S Pro. 😉

August 12, 2012 at 4:58 pmI do a lot of football video so I deal with LOTS of media. Ultimate S Pro would be paid off in no time. I will explore the purchase.
Thanks again for your input.

Changing media properties in the Project Media window and on the timeline has absolutely no difference. Media properties change the properties of the media file 🙂
> “My question –is this something that I need to be doing to these clips/events? Is changing the field order a logical thing to do to render this footage to DVD (to make it look good)? I’ve done this because it works, but am I doing something wrong with Vegas setting/properties that is causing me to have to do this in the first place?”
It is VERY important that Vegas interprets the media properties correctly. Especially the field order. Otherwise, you’ll get bad results. Try the following: Set the correct field order and save it as a profile for future use. These settings will be used whenever a file of that type is detected.

p.s. Vegasaur Field Order Analyzer will help you to identify the correct field order of your video files. And Quick Properties to change it in a batch

August 13, 2012 at 5:05 pmThank you for the information Aleksey. I tried to save the profile as you suggested, but it keeps telling me “An unknown error occurred trying to save the video profile” I’m not sure what’s up with that 🙁
I will look into Vegasaur per your suggestions.
Regarding working with these HD files, since I’m rendering for DVD, in addition to changing the field order from “None (progressive scan)” to “Lower Field” should I also change the Pixel aspect ratio from square to “1.2121 (NTSC DV Widescreen)?
Thanks
