Can I change the default audio plug-ins?
Vegas loads the same 3 plug-ins on every audio track (Noise Gate, Track EQ, Track Compressor). I’ve always wondered if I could customize the list of default plug-ins. I know you can save a list of plug-ins as an “FX Package”, and easily call them up using the plug-in chooser, but I’d rather modify the default list so that the plug-ins I want come up on every audio track, without any extra steps.
I’ve always wondered if this was even possible. Then earlier today, I did something by accident that resulted in me adding a fourth plug-in to the default list. All I was trying to do was add the plug-in to a single track, but somehow it’s now become one of the default plug-ins. So now every audio track I add has four plug-ins. I have no idea how this happened, and I don’t actually want this particular plug-in to be on every audio track. But the point is, I *did* add it, and now it comes up on every audio track. This seems to suggest that the default list is customizable.
So my question is – how do I take control of the default plug-ins, so that every audio track I add to a project automatically loads the plugs-ins I want, rather than the ones that Sony gives me by default?
