  • Can I bulk change transitions?

    Hi,

I need to bulk add (and would like to know how to then bulk change) about 15 transitions on a connected storyline

But can’t figure out a way to do either.

I have about 15 image clips on a single timeline, which goes for about 30 minutes.

I’d like to bulk add a transition for every clip.
Then I want to update all those transitions to another.

I also want to update the duration of all transitions in one go.
I know how to do this for each: Ctrl-D and type “10” (for 10 frames).

But I can’t see any easy way to bulk any of this up, to do in 1 command.
I can’t even find a way to select all transitions for a start.
The project being 30min makes this a little harder.

To apply a transition to all clips, select all the clips then double click the transition you want to apply. This method works to put transitions on all clips but it also puts them on both ends of the clip. Not sure how to put them on just one end of each clip.

I’m not sure on changing them, but I imagine it would just change them on the clip. I’ll test that next time I open up fcpx

    Thank you.
I had tried “dragging” the transition onto the all-selected clips with no success. I’ll try double-clicking as adding to both ends of the clip might be OK.
