Can I bring uncompressed .motn into AVID?
Hi-
I’m looking for a way to bring Motion work across to an AVID Media Composer-big question, I know. Does anyone know the best way to do this? We will be using Automatic Duck for the FCP stuff, but this does not bear on Motion efx, right?
The issue is that we are uprez-ing from DVCAM to D-Beta. Otherwise I would lay the rendered files to a hard drive and walk them over to the online studio, ’nuff said.
There was a rumored Uncompressed Avid codec for Motion that was downloadable somewhere, but I have not been able to find it.
Is the best way to go with the largest, most uncompressed QT codec as a safety, just in case?

Just render in the Animation Codec in Motion. That will import just fine into an AVID. Just be sure to render in the correct frame size and correct field order.
I create a lot of animations in After Effects for an AVID editor using 720×486 frame size, lower field first and the Animation Codec. Works fine.

Motion relies on QT for it’s I/O, There aren’t codecs specificly for Motion.
Walter has a good point though, many simply use the Animation codec.
