  • Can High Sierra block Blackmagic video capture?

    Hi Folks,

I have a 2011 MBP 15″ running OSX High Sierra.
I also have a Mk1 Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle thunderbolt.
Previously the Shuttle was working well with an earlier MBP (2010 17″)

This MBP however does not recognise the Shuttle either in dedicated apps (eg Blackmagic Desktop Video or Media Express ) or in the system information viewer.

    I’ve replaced the thunderbolt cable.

Now here is where it gets strange.
Today I tried another brand new HDMI capture device via USB.
Although it lit up showing it was getting power, it too did not show up in the system info viewer .

A thunderbolt external Lacie HD works fine so I know the port is working.

Is it possible that upgrading the OS to High Sierra somehow knocked out the MBPs ability to ‘see’ capture devices?

Any help or suggestions very gratefully received

    Cheers

    Jonathan

I hope all it is is to find the right combination of BMD Desktop Video and OS X.
We had this issue with the AVID/BMD Artist DNIO unit on a few diff Mac Pros.
