    Hi,

Newbie question. I’m using GSG’s HDR rig and am really happy with the results. However, I want to add a light to the HDR lighting to brighten up just a single area of the render. But when I add the light, the HDR lighting is destroyed (actually, looks like it is turned off completely.) Is there a trick to using an HDR image for MOST of your lighting, and using a spotlight to accent the scene? Are these two types of scene lighting incompatible?

    Thanks in advance,

    D

You can use HDRI and regular lights — shouldn’t be a problem. Hard to say what’s going on in your scene without more information, but it’s possible that the light is overpowering the HDRI lighting. Can you post a before/after screen shot?
