Can FCP be forced to render motion effects as frame-based instead of field-based?

and that DVE would be a dedicated piece of hardware specific to handling GRAPHICS and EFFECTS for video. DVE’s were not NLE’s and were made to add effects to video – just like AE does.

Hey, I’ve been making things look filmic since 2000, working with progressive. I always start from that point, and never have to deal with interlaced, so as to whether this will mess up your timeline or not, I don’t know. Whatever the case, turning fields off will make your transitions/effects/text… whatever you render, have that stuttering effect of film, rather than the silk of video. So, everyone’s right, turn of fields, and you’ll have what you’re looking for on the renders. Hope the frame rate and everything is compatible for you.
