  • Can DL read time-code from TC generator?

Posted by Margus Voll on September 19, 2009 at 11:39 am

    Hi.

I’m helping to build my friends a sppoting station with capture option. I wonder if eny DL model can read TC as LTC from generator with media express or something similar. On BM page there used to be name to little software that did this but i can not find it as it migth be removed.

I have one older DL pci-e to test with if i find appropriate macpro to it.

My general goal is to capture mov with TC for spotting and DL should just listen to the TC and record it to file. No device control needed but i have only experienced recording TC from beta and digibeta.

    Eny ideas ?

    Hi Margus,

Sorry, we only read timecode via RP188 in a supported application like Media Express or via RS422.

    regards

Is there eny way to know if this generators ltc is compatible with 422 or is there eny
converter which makes DL to belive that it has the control 🙂

I really want to use DL there and it seems just a mather of converter etc.

You can capture LTC to one audio channel and use ‘FCP auxTC’ https://www.videotoolshed.com/?page=products&pID=26 to convert to timecode in FCP.
