  • Can Decklink and Premiere Support 4-channel Embedded SDI Audio?

Subject says it all. We’re getting a SDX900 which will record four discrete audio channels and would love to be able to capture this into PPro in one pass. Is it possible?

Hey Peter… we use it with PPro all the time in both capture and mastering to digibeta and HDCAM. Its great for exporting main pic, mix and m&e in one pass. And recently we did a doco where they shot digibeta with cam mic (stereo) on tracks 1 and 2 and radio mikes on tracks 3 and 4. We ingested all in one pass.

    Thanks Baz,

Are there special settings to input 4-channel. I can’t seem to find anything.

Just go into ‘project settings’ and ensure it has ‘decklink capture’ as the device and select ‘properties’ and set it to 5.1 (6 channels)

Aha! Then do a channel remap I guess and you have four mono channels.

    Thanks Baz.
