Can Camera act on only certain 3d layers?
I don’t see good old Basic 3D in the Effects anymore and I miss it.
I have a camera and two 3d layers. I don’t want the camera’s movement to affect layer 3. How is that done?

Try precomping the 3D layer that you don’t want to be affected by the camera and leave its “collapse transformations” switch off.
Mind you, I haven’t tried this.

Mmh, I don’t really see your problem. If it’s supposed to be unaffected by the cam move, it effectively behaves like a 2D layer. So why not simply pre-compose (like Steve said already)?

Anytime you are looking for an Effect that may have moved since an upgrade:
Go to the Windows menu and choose Effects and Presets. There’s a search field type the name of the effect you desire and you’ll find it. Basic 3D is in there somewhere. -
Effects > Perspective > Basic 3D
