If I were to bring in a number of different MPEG2 files into Architect 2.0, can it make a DVD that runs as a continuous one-peace media? It

Yes and no. You can create a DVD that will auto start on one media and then end-action that to the next media, and so forth through all the media. However, there WILL be a very slight pause as it moves from one piece media to the next. The length of the pause will vary by player but you need to take the slight pause into account when preparing the pieces. There’s no problem getting them to play back to back, though.

    Thanks for the quick response.

The “Slight Pause” you talk about, do you happen to know about how long? A couple of seconds? Less than 5? More? And would this approach be a complex thing to achieve in Arch 2?

You had once suggested (on managing large projects) doing manageable sized projects, then rendering each out as AVI’s and then bringing them all into new project to render out as MPEG2. Do I recall correctly, do you recommend this? I recall there was some conflicting opinions on it?

I guess if the Pause is short enough, that would be an easy way to go.

Any other suggestions for managing a large Project? (Vegas 5)

    Thanks Again!

Short pause would be more like 1/2 second.

One last thing, will I be able to create Chapters as I wish? In between the Pauses?

You will be able to create chapters. You will also be able to progress forward with the chapters. Going backwards, the chapters may stop at the beginning of that clip.

Experiment using both simple end-actions and setting it up in a playlist.

If you render each individual project to AVI then bring all of those into Vegas to do your final render you can eliminate any pauses and still be able to put your chapter marks in where you want. Then render that final project out to Mpeg2 (check “save chapter marks”) and bring that one Mpeg2 file into DVDA and prepare. Your DVD will then play from start to finish without any pauses and still have your chapter marks.
