I noticed something odd with the safe margins in the titler versus the timeline monitor, they don’t match! I looked in the help files and could not find an answer for this (thought maybe you could set the margins indepedent of each other, but it appears the setting option is universal). This does not happen in earlier versions of PPro. For examples, please go to https://home.earthlink.net/~payner44/chat.htm

I’m guessing the titler uses “safe title” and the timeline uses “safe action”. Safe title is usually the more conservative setting as you don’t want to cut off a title.

I just looked at my versions of PP1.5 and 2.0. Both of them are the same on my computer. The safe margins (both safe action and safe titles) in the titler match the program monitor.

Is it possible that the safe zone settings got changed in your project settings from 20% and 10% to something else?

Steve, no nothing is changed from the default (20% and 10%)…in either 1.5.1 or 2.

I rebuilt the title in question and things worked fine afterwards…another Adobe bug, I guess.

I’m not aware of any known bug with the safe window in the titler.

I took another look at the picture and realized that there was a serious difference in scale between the image in the titler and on the sequence. I am glad to hear that the problem “went away”.

So am I, but somehow I know it will happen again…at least there’s a simple cure.
