  • Can an Io and Kona 3 co-exist happily on the same machine?

I’ll be getting into HD in a couple of weeks. I plan on adding a Kona 3 card to my Quad G5. I’ve been using an Aja Io on it up until now. Can I still use both of these I/O devices on the same computer without them fighting each other? I’d like to keep the Io on for SD video and use the Kona for HD. Will this work OK and if so how do I designate between one device or the other? I’m just trying to head off any problems ahead of time.
    Thanks,
    Tom

yes – they are DESIGNED to work together. You just load in your new Kona 3 software, which loads in ALONG WITH your AJA I/O drivers, and simply choose the Kona 3 or AJA I/O from the Easy Setups (one of thousands of choices).

    SIMPLE !

Yep, I run Kona cards with Io’s on the same machines and they work wonderfully together in my experience. AJA does support this setup.
