June 22, 2013 at 6:44 pmIt is probably important to note that it will make you save the file as a CC project when you open it, and you can’t open it back up in 5.5 or 6 afterwards.

June 23, 2013 at 9:13 amDoes this mean that, if I decide to subscribe to CC and create new projects there, if I then decide to cancel my CC subscription, I will no longer have access to the new projects in my current copy of CS6? If this is the case, then I’d be locked into CC for life!

“1 – You can create XML files from your projects to open in older Premiere Pro versions or even in other NLE apps.
2 – CC is available by the month as well so if you cancel CC, then need access to your files at some point down the road, you can activate your subscription for one month, do what you need to do to either modify or export your files and then cancel again.

June 23, 2013 at 4:29 pmI own the CS4 Production Premium collection and the CS6 Master Collection. I kept CS4 installed “just in case” – it hasn’t happened yet. When I need to work on an old project, I just open it in CS6, then save it (as CS6), and move on.

March 17, 2014 at 10:36 pmDoes this mean that you can also open CS4 files? I have a colleague that is working on a project in CS4 and I am looking to make a decision on whether to stick with CS6 or upgrade to CC and would need an answer to this before I jump in the boat. Thanks!
