    Will the following work:

macpro 5.1 os 10.6.8 to Lacie triple interface via fw800

then from the Lacie to a bus powered usb 3.0 external hard drive via a male to male usb 3,0 cable?

Will it power the usb 3.0 drive?
Will fw800 speed pass thru to the 3.0 drive?

    thanks,
    HalB

I would hope you got an answer from somewhere as your post hasn’t been answered for quite some time. The answer is “no” USB 3.0 just doesn’t have the current to spin up a 3.5″ hard drive.
