  Camera that doesn’t auto play

  I’m not sure if this is where I should post this question, but since I have a JVC GY-HD110U, I thought I would start here. Does anyone out there know of a camera I can plug in to my MacBook Pro that won’t go in to auto play mode. What I’m trying to do is make a stop motion in iMovie of stars in the night sky so you can see stars streak through the sky. All of the cameras I’ve tested go into capture mode as soon as you plug in the cord. Also, I would prefer if the camera had manual settings. Thanks for your help!
