  • Camera Target for maps – help!

    Hi,

I’m trying to build a simple 3d set up for a map graphic consisting of a camera, a null object (target) and some vector artwork (map).

I’d like to be able to move the ‘target’ null around only in the X & Y axis (e.g. move the target around the surface of the map) with the camera’s point of interest following it.

I need the ‘map’ layers anchor point X & Y values to match those of the target nulls position (but not the Z value)

I’d also like to control the ‘map’ layers X,Y & Z rotation using the X,Y & Z values of the ‘target’ layer.

So, in effect I can move the ‘target’ null around the ‘map’ artwork with the camera following it, zoom in and out using the camera and change the rotation of the ‘map’ using controls on the target

Here is my project so far:

(Essentially I’m after a set up similar to the Target Camera in C4D so if anyone knows of a better way of doing this feel free to let me know!)

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your time,

    Tim
