    Hi all,

I’m having focus issues (on many levels). Hopefully someone can help me out.

I have a 3D comp where a camera is looking at a precomp that contains text and footage. No matter how I tweak the settings I can’t seem to get the camera to see the precomp as sharply focused as the original layers are. Both the parent and precomp are 720 x 480 and the precomp fills the view of the camera to the exact size of the original. Depth of field is turned off. Continuous rasterize is also off (when it is on, the image disappears.) The interesting aspect to me is that in the parent comp the scale of the precomp doesn’t seem to matter, as long as I move the z position of the camera to compensate it stays at the same level of ‘soft focus’.

    thanks in advance,

    Morris

All 3D layers are filtered. They will never look as sharp as 2D layers. This is not related to DOF, but to the way 3D rendering works to avoid Moir
