  • Camera Shake Problem?

Posted by Kyle Sowden on July 25, 2011 at 11:51 pm

Okay, so i’m following this tutorial > https://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/procedural_crumble/

And as you can see, his version has a camera shake using the wiggle, but he doesn’t actually go over the wiggle in the tutorial.

And because I have so many layers, and he has an extra pre-comp called “shake” that he doesn’t explain, I have no idea where to add the wiggle.

Could somebody please give me a rundown on how I would add the camera shake like in this tutorial?

The wiggle should be applied to the camera position or to the Null/Nulls that control the position if you use a camera rig.

I have tried adding a null and then moving the camera around but the whole thing just stays still?

Do I need to parent the null to something, or something along those lines? :s

Here’s a good tutorial on building a camera rig:

And here’s a goog one for camera shake:

I described how to do camera shake with a null and the wiggler [link] on this forum a few weeks ago.

Even if you’re using a camera rig, I recommend using the wiggler on a null, then parenting the rig to the null. This will give you a lot more flexibility if you need to move the wiggled keyframes later in the animation.
