Hi any idea how to create a camera shake effect with Vegas 7? I tried with event pan/crop option but doesn’t work too good… a bit to smooth , not jerky enough.

Quake for Vegas is what you’re looking for.

Another option is the effects available at newbluefx.com which also has both camerashake and earthquake effects.

is there a “cheap” way to create that effect?

Using the script Mike pointed you to is the cheapest method. I think the newbluefx effect looks better, though.

Yeah, that script setup looks specifically for Vegas 5. If you have the unzipped files, it works in the newer versions. However, it won’t install unless you have Vegas 5 installed.

I have the unzipped files but don’t feel right about hosting them since I didn’t write that one.

Try this suggestion from a poster on the Sony Vegas forum.

Extract the file to: C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas 7\Script Menu

You should see a folder in the Script Menu entitled “Vegas Quake.”

You can either go to “Tools-Scripting-Vegas Quake” and execute the script, or go to “Options-Customize Toolbar” and add the Vegas Quake icon to your toolbar (which I have done, it’s an italic caps Q in a shaded blue square.

Either way, select a timeline track and region, then run the script or click the icon. A GUI will give you the various options, click OK and off you go.

Here’s what I get when I either use it in the toolbar or trough the script menue

    C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas 7.0\Script Menu\VegasQuake.js(4) : Type name expected
C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas 7.0\Script Menu\VegasQuake.js(4) : Type ‘VegasQuake.VegasQuake’ could not be found, is an assembly reference missing?
