    Hello,

I will be shooting a :30 spot on Saturday using an AG-HVX200A and editing on Avid Media Composer 3.0.

The spot will only air on cable and will be SD in 4:3 format. The delivery is going to be a mini-dv tape in DVCPRO or DVCPRO50 format.

I need to know what setting to work with for the camera and the Avid.

I think 720p is the way to go, and since it is not going to film, should I shoot at 30P instead of 24P?

As far as the Avid goes, if I shoot at 30P, the settings look like it will be 720P/30PN. My concern, according to Avid’s specs, is that the resolution will be DVCPRO HD (100). I am not sure if this will work…

Any advice on this will be appreciated.

I really want the best quality possible, based the above specs…

    Thanks,
    Jim

The camera will shoot DVCPro 50. If that’s the delievry format why not just shoot that. Then you avoid having to convert HD to SD. I know the camera will record DVCPro 50 to a P2 card, but I don’t know if it will record it to tape.
