Looking for an upgrade for my on-camera monitor.

The SmallHD 701 is heavily discounted at BH for a few more hours today. It’s bright with waveform and good features, but the Ikan DP7 has 1080p compared to the lower resolution on the 701.

Anyone else weighing these aspects? I’m leaning towards the SmallHD thinking that 720p is enough resolution for focussing with a 7″ monitor.

I love my 9″ Flanders for its many, many, many features. I especially like its very bold and easy to use Peaking function for showing focus. Display of timecode enables me to know that a camera boomed up above where we can see is in fact recording. Flanders also has more scopes and meters.

BUT it is considerably more money than the monitors you are discussing.
