Hi I’m integrate a road designed in 3D into a 2d still photo. I’m trying to get the perspective of the road to match that of the photo. When I seemingly get the correct vanishing point and position lined up, I end up getting my materials distorted on my road object. The material is a real image of dirt to give it authenticity, but Cinema 4D really messes up the part of the texture closest to the camera, it is very stretched and distorted. I have messed with the focal length, aperture width, and field of view settings a lot with the camera, but I can’t seem to get the perspective right without distorting the road texture.

    The road looks like this:

I need to have it seem like a deep scene, but any texture I put on there stretches out in the foreground and doesn’t look right.

Anyone who can help me out with this please?

Does the texture look correct when viewed up close from a top view? How did you create the road (i.e., extrude, sweep, poly model….)? What type of UV projection are you using?

It sounds like the bitmap may lack sufficient resolution for close-up viewing. If so you’ll have to tile it (or find a tiling bitmap if this one doesn’t work) or create a procedural material to use in place of the bitmap.
